The Project
The design, supply and installation of Paulsgrove Adventure Playground has been a large scale, highly successful project for us. Originally the area was a lorry park which required complete transformation to create a playground of national importance.
Local children, parents and schools were heavily involved in the consultation process which was carried out by Portsmouth City Council to ensure the equipment selected met the needs of all involved.

The consultation identified several important factors which affected the project; these included the safety of children and parents using the site, the need for inclusive equipment to allow children of all abilities of play together and large equipment so parents / carers could play too!
The safety issue was addressed by Portsmouth City Council and it was decided to staff the site to provide a secure environment. Playground Services offered advice and a design using the Sutcliffe Play and Kaiser & Kühne ranges of equipment.
The design incorporated a wide range of equipment and activities and the centre piece was a 10.5m high Kaiser & Kühne Dalben Tower with 2 chute slides and a special design Kaiser & Kühne Waterplay unit. The range of equipment ensured that the projects objectives were fully met.
The installation was carried out quickly and efficiently by our in house teams, large machinery including a tele-handler / crane were utilised due to the scale of the project and the sizes of individual items.
Since opening, the playground has been extremely popular and is being enjoyed by all.

Additional Works
We provided all surfacing including play sand, grass tiles and turf. Fencing and general landscaping work was also undertaken.
